ReadEden Terms of Service
These Terms explain how you may use the ReadEden mobile application, an optional Account, sync, Premium and the public pages at readeden.com. You can save or print them from your browser.
1. Who provides ReadEden
ReadEden is provided by Easy Life Sp. z o.o., registered at Hoża 51, 00-681 Warsaw, Poland, entered in the Polish register of entrepreneurs under KRS 0000716356, tax ID NIP 1182164729 and REGON 369376133 ("ReadEden", "we", "us").
You can contact us at kontakt@readeden.com or by post at the address above, marked "ReadEden".
2. Words used in these Terms
- Application means the ReadEden mobile application.
- Website means the public pages at readeden.com, including the Reading Room, information pages and legal documents.
- Account means an optional account used for sync and other online features.
- Premium means a paid, renewing subscription to the features shown before purchase.
- User means a person aged 16 or over who uses ReadEden.
3. Age and parental permission
ReadEden is intended for people aged 16 or over. If the law where you live does not allow you to enter into the relevant agreement on your own, you may create an Account or purchase Premium only with permission from a parent or guardian where local law requires it.
When you first use ReadEden and when you register, you confirm that you are at least 16, accept these Terms and confirm that you have any parental or guardian permission required by law.
4. When our agreement begins
You can keep a local reading journal without an Account. The agreement for that feature begins when you first accept these Terms and start using the Application. The Account agreement begins when registration succeeds. The Premium agreement begins when your purchase is confirmed.
Merely browsing the public Website does not create an Account or subscription. The provisions concerning intellectual property, external links and commercial partnerships still apply to Website content.
5. What ReadEden offers
ReadEden lets you keep a reading journal, add books and sessions, record progress and notes, set goals, earn achievements, search book data and receive recommendations. An Account provides cloud backup and sync between supported devices.
Shared book discussions and other social features are not part of the current service or Premium. If we ever launch them, we will publish rules for user content, moderation, reports and appeals beforehand.
6. Technical requirements
The Application requires the device and Android version listed in the current Google Play description.
An internet connection is required for registration, sync, payments, book search, recommendations and online content. Your local journal does not require a constant internet connection.
7. Account security and acceptable use
If you choose to create an Account, provide a valid email address, protect your password and do not share your Account. Contact us if you suspect unauthorised access.
You must not bypass security, disrupt ReadEden, access another person's data, use the service unlawfully, or automatically collect content in a way that burdens the service or infringes the rights of others.
8. Local data, sync and export
Without an Account, your journal stays only on your phone. It may be lost if the device fails, is lost or replaced, or if you uninstall the Application or clear its data. An Account is optional and reduces this risk through sync. You can also use export if you want an additional copy.
You can delete your Account and cloud data in Settings or by following Delete your account and data. Deleting the Account may not remove every local copy from every device.
9. Catalogues, recommendations and editorial content
Book data comes from sources including Google Books, Open Library and the National Library of Poland. It may be incomplete, inaccurate or refer to a different edition. You can correct information in your own journal.
Recommendations are suggestions, not a promise that you will enjoy a book. Reading Room articles are editorial and informational. They are not offers to sell books. Our selection principles are explained on the How we recommend books page.
10. Premium, price and taxes
The basic version of ReadEden is free. Premium may include an expanded library view, additional themes, deeper statistics and a yearly recap. The binding scope, price, currency, billing period, taxes and any trial terms are shown before you confirm a purchase.
Easy Life Sp. z o.o. provides Premium. Google Play supplies the distribution platform and processes payment under the rules applicable to the relevant country. Responsibility for calculating and remitting tax depends on the place of the transaction and the current Google Play rules.
The Application checks directly with Google Play whether a subscription is active. The purchase identifier and subscription status received for this check remain on the device and are not sent to ReadEden servers.
A monthly or yearly subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You manage it in Google Play. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Uninstalling the Application or deleting your Account does not cancel a subscription.
When Premium ends, we do not delete or hide books already saved in your journal. You lose access to Premium features, and adding further books is subject to the limits of the current free version. Price changes to a renewing subscription will be communicated under Google Play rules and applicable law.
11. Withdrawal, cancellation and refunds
If you are a consumer, you may have statutory withdrawal, cancellation or refund rights. Their scope depends on your country, the type of service and any consent given for immediate performance of a digital service. Consumers in the European Economic Area generally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract, subject to exceptions for digital services and content.
Cancellation or refund processing may take place through Google Play. This does not limit rights you may have against us under mandatory law. You can also contact ReadEden about a Premium complaint.
12. Conformity, updates and complaints
We provide the digital service in conformity with our agreement and supply required updates, including security updates. If the service does not conform, you have the remedies required by the law applicable where you live.
Send a complaint to kontakt@readeden.com or by post to the address in section 1. Describe the issue, device and Application version. Include your Account email only if it is relevant. We respond within the period required by applicable law.
13. Affiliate links and sponsored material
Some bookshop links are affiliate links. We may receive a commission if you buy after clicking, without changing your price. Paid material is labelled before the main content. Payment or commission does not guarantee a positive opinion or inclusion in the Reading Room.
14. Rights in ReadEden and your data
The Application, Website, our texts, graphics and interface belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use ReadEden under these Terms.
We do not take ownership of your private notes or reading data. We process them only as needed to provide the features you choose. Rules for future public content will be published before social features launch.
15. Availability and liability
We work to keep ReadEden available and secure, but interruptions can result from maintenance, faults, suppliers or events outside our control. We are not responsible for the content or availability of external catalogues, shops or websites. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Restricting or deleting an Account
We may temporarily restrict access to protect security, repair a fault or investigate misuse. We may delete an Account for serious or repeated breaches of law, security or these Terms. Unless immediate action is necessary, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to respond first.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms because of changes in law, features, payment methods, technical requirements or security. For changes affecting an ongoing agreement, we will notify you by email or in the Application before they take effect, explaining the reason and date. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the service before that date.
18. Governing law and disputes
Polish law applies. This does not take away mandatory consumer rights under the law of the country where you live. Courts have jurisdiction as provided by applicable law.
